The HosterÃa Hacienda and Cumandá Ethnobotanical Reserve are located two hours from
Quito at an altitude of 6,070 feet (1,850 meters) above sea level in an area of low montane forests. The hotel’s 554-acre (224-hectare) forest reserve is home to a wide variety of flora and fauna and is surrounded by three national parks: Cayambe-Coca, Antisana, and Sumaco.
These surroundings make the hacienda an ideal place for bird watching, as well as for an array of adventure sports such as rafting, kayaking, mountain biking, hiking, a canopy tour, horseback riding, and photography. The hotel is also located on a cattle ranch where guests can experience traditional country life and activities such as milking cows and rearing calves.
