The Tandayapa Bird Lodge is less than an hour-and-a-half from Quito, along the main paved highway to Esmeraldas (the last 6km is up a quiet, unpaved backroad). The Tandayapa turnoff is at km 52 on the highway, from there it is a 6km uphill walk to Tandayapa.
All rooms have hot water, electricity, and a private bathroom. Rooms are near to the main lounge. Spacious balcony. Extensive trail system for birdwatching. The only lodge in the world designed by birders, owned by birders, and run for birders by birders.
